The first Age Of Empires conversion to mobile phone didn't go very well. The game was full of issues around controlling your game.
The AI was very un-responsive to your commands and movements. It felt like the game was rushed out too soon and required much more development. Possibly, Microsoft thought it wouldn't be very popular?
When we first ran the new Age Of Empires 3 Mobile edition, it was clear that Microsoft had put a whole lot more thought in to the production and presentation of this game.
